Support Military Families Overseas

image

FreeCoupons.org and its readers are working to make a positive difference in the lives of military families stationed overseas.

Since many of the families of overseas troops rely on a single source of income, they sometimes struggle to make ends meet. Because they are allowed to use expired coupons 6 months past the expiration dates though, you can help our troops stationed overseas by sending them your unused, expired coupons.

We'd love to see you team up with us and mail in your coupons to support these families at our adopted bases.

Sending in Your Coupons

  • Send ONLY manufacturer coupons (not store coupons).
  • Send coupons that are NOT expired past 30 days.
  • Clip the coupons.
  • Sort them as Food or Non-Food (see Q&A for more info).
  • Use a baggie (instead of rubber bands/paper clips) to divide the coupons into Food or Non-Food.
  • Label the bags as Food/Non-Food and write the total approximate value of all the coupons on the outside (see Q&A for more info).
  • Send them to: Freecoupons.com, PO Box #426, Avila Beach, CA 93424

Questions & Answers

Q: Does it matter where I clip my manufacturer coupons from?

A: Not at all. They can be from newspapers, grocery store dispensers, tear-pads, the internet, or anywhere else as long as they state that they are the 'Manufacturer's Coupon.'

Q: What's Food & Non-Food?

A: 'Food' are items eaten by humans to provide calories. Slim Fast, chewing gum, and mints are 'food.' Cat and dog food and vitamins are 'non-food'.

Q: Why Food & Non-Food?

A: Military bases generally hold 2 stores: the Commissary which provides groceries and the PX or BX, which is our equivalent of a department store. By separating the coupons into 'food' and 'non-food' groups, you can help ensure that they arrive at the correct store.

Q: How and why do I need to calculate the value of the coupons?

A: Add the total savings of all the coupons. For 'Buy One, Get One Free' discounts, use the maximum value for the savings. If no value is listed on the coupon, do your best to estimate an amount. Including the value allows for the coupons to be distributed properly amongst the bases according to their specific needs and sizes. This way the coupons can be distributed evenly to the families on base.

Q: Is there a minimum donation of coupons?

A: Not at all. Please send as many coupons as you like!

Q: Can I send to a specific overseas military base of my choice?

A: Absolutely! Check out OCPnet.org for details on how to do so.

Q: Is this tax-deductible?

A: No, but you are helping others :)

Q: Why can't I send coupons that have been expired past 30 days?

A: We need time to process and send them to the correct destination. The military bases do not accept coupons that are more than 60 days expired as they need time to distribute the coupons and the families need time to use them.
